CSSE STATEMENT
“The Government has proposed revisions to the School Admissions Code which, if adopted, would require a change in the process of application to the selective schools affiliated to the CSSE. The changes are currently laid before Parliament and until they have been formally accepted into law, we are unable to confirm the full implications. A statement detailing the changes will appear on this website in due course, and parents will be advised through local Primary schools.
We can however confirm that entrance to the CSSE selective schools will still be based on the same testing process, with papers assessing ability in English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning. The dates of the these tests may be brought forward a few weeks, being held in September 2012, for admission to Year 7 in the following Autumn. Parents would then be advised of these test results before submitting their Local Authority application forms with their school preferences.
